With walkout basements seeming to be the range, many homes have sloping lawns as they transition from front to back. As a result, sometimes strange areas present themselves that just need a little attention.
For the case of this homeowner, a series of two small retaining walls were implemented to make the space around the AC unit and water faucet easier to maintain and access.
To soften the stone and concrete foundation walls a few shade preferring plants were installed in a small mulch bed that extends off the edge of the lower retaining wall and runs back to the front drive way.
Projects like these are low budget and can generally be completed in 1-2 days. If you have a space like that shown above and are in the market for a small retaining wall a reasonable starting point might be around $1500 or so.
Winter is looking to be mild and we're expecting crews to be able to produce beautiful landscape walls and patio spaces through the winter. If you've got a challenging landscape space, we'd love to hear about it. The Twin Creeks Landscape Group likes a good challenge!
